The big problem inside the Federal Union of Burma
Col. Yawd Serk wants to suggest at the ASEAN meeting, which is going to be held in Thailand in December 2008, to discuss the big problem in Burma and to push the SPDC to hand over the power to their people. By this, the ASEAN can improve their image, which has been badly damaged by the SPDC. "If the SPDC will stubbornly rule the country without listening to anyone, this will keep damaging the image of the ASEAN. This should not be forgotten by the ASEAN governments, " he says. "The ASEAN should not only deal with the people in power but they should see the suffering of the people inside Burma and the murdering of innocent people."

Medics Training to Help Those Displaced by Burma Army attacks
These photos are of the FBR medics undergoing advanced training. During the training we often have villagers come for treatment at the training site. This year a Karen family carried down their little girl who was dying of pneumonia. Dr. DKO (the FBR chief physician) began to work on her right away. Through a combination of his skill, the help of the senior medics and the prayers of many here, the girl survived. Included is a picture of the girl and her father. Later Dr. Kaw came to continue the medic training and we are grateful for his help in improving the skill of the medics. At the end of the medical training, Dr. Win Kyaw and Winston (local Karen medical supervisors) gave outstanding surgical training.
Photos of Villagers attacked by Burma Army in Mon Township
Burma Army troops from MOC 21 are now attacking with two battalions in northern Mon Township and two battalions in central Mon Township. These attacks have resulted in 12 villages being abandoned, with homes destroyed and looted. The 1,971 people in hiding are in two groups, 983 people hiding in the north and 988 in the south. Due to early warning of the attacks by the local resistance all but one person were able to escape. This one casualty so far, Saw Dah Koo Roo, male, 28 years old, was shot to death as he fled between villages. An FBR relief team is in this area with the people giving medical assistance as well as providing some shelter and blankets for the people in hiding.

Sao Harn Yawnghwe, The Last Generation Of A Tai Sao Fa Ho Struggles To Restore Shan State By Democratic Means
While the Western democracies are being kept in suspense on the transition of a new Cabinet Team to the White House in US, the Eastern are engaging in the killing fields amid global economic crisis. If Thailand can cut off the scenes of the strike at the Thai Government House, it would look a lot better. Sao Harn Yawnghwe is one of the heirs of Sao Shwe Thaik Yawnghwe, the first President of the Union of Burma and the First Lady or the Mahadevi Sao Nang Hern Kham, the founder of the SSA (Shan State Army). After his 60 years of dramatic lifespan, he is taking the right of abode in Canada and holding a Canadian citizen. Since 1997, he has taken up a responsibility as the director of Euro-Burma Office in Belgium.
